Aluminum hydroxide is a kind of inorganic substance, chemical formula Al(OH)3, is the hydroxide of aluminum.Aluminum hydroxide can react with both acid to form salt and water and strong base to form salt and water, so it is a amphoteric hydroxide.It is also called alumic acid (H3AlO3) because of its acidity.But the actual reaction with the base produces tetrahydroxy aluminate ([Al(OH)4]-).It is therefore commonly regarded as monohydrate metaaluminate (HAlO2·H2O), which is divided into industrial and pharmaceutical grades according to its use.
