The chemical formula of Cobalt(II) hydroxide is Co (OH) 2, which is generally rose red monoclinic or Tetragonal crystal system crystal system, insoluble in water, slightly amphoteric, insoluble in strong alkali, but soluble in acid and ammonium salt solutions.
The density is approximately 3.6g/cm3. Melting point 1100-1200 ºC, it is an amphoteric hydroxide.
It is mainly used as colorant for glass and enamel, raw material for making other Cobalt compounds, and desiccant for varnish and paint.
