Calcium fluoride is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula of CaF2. It is a colorless crystal or white powder. It is insoluble in water. The calcium fluoride mineral in nature is fluorite or fluorspar, which is often gray, yellow, green, purple, etc., sometimes colorless, transparent, with glass luster, brittle, and has significant fluorescence. Very pure fluorspar is used to make special lenses. Fluorite is mainly used as a flux for smelting metals; when drinking water contains 1-1.5ppm calcium fluoride, it can prevent and treat dental diseases.
