Ytterbium oxide Introduction:
Ytterbium oxide (Ytterbium trioxide), molecular formula:Yb2O3 ; Molecular weight: 394.08. Pure is colorless powder, light brown or yellow when containing thulium oxide. Microhygroscopicity, easy to absorb water and carbon dioxide from the air, into the basic ytterbium carbonate. Yttrium is the most alkaline of the yttrium group except lutetium oxide. Insoluble in water and cold acid, soluble in hot dilute acid.
