Tungsten trioxide is a powder metallurgy raw material for production of cemented carbide and tungsten products. According to the national standard (GB/T 3457-1998), it is divided into two types, namely tungsten trioxide (xanthelatine for short), the molecular formula is WO3, and tungsten blue oxide (blue tungsten for short, is a mixed tungsten oxide), the molecular formula is W20O58. Xanthine is light yellow crystalline powder, blue tungsten is dark blue or blue black crystalline powder.

Application
1.Tungsten trioxide is used in many everyday applications. It is often used to make tungstate in industrial X-ray screen phosphors and fireproof fabrics. Due to its rich yellow element, tungsten oxide is also used as a pigment in ceramics and paints.
2.Tungsten trioxide has been engaged in the production of electrochromic Windows, smart Windows. These Windows are electrically switched glass, light transmission properties with applied voltage changes. This allows users to tone their Windows through changes in the amount of heat or light. Another use is the use of high density inert metal explosives, the use of these devices was more prominent during the 2008-2009 conflict between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
