Zirconium hydroxide is a kind of water insoluble, alkaline slightly stronger amphoteric hydroxide, the appearance of white powder solid, widely used in various chemical industry.
Application
Used in the manufacture of other zirconium compounds, pigments, dyes, glass, etc.Mainly used in the preparation of zirconium and zirconium compounds, also used in plastics, rubber, ion exchange resins and other industries of filler, catalyst, deodorant and pigment. Used as an analytical reagent, also used in the preparation of chromium compounds and pigment preparation; Used as intermediate in other zirconium products
Zirconium hydroxide is a water insoluble, slightly alkaline amphoteric hydroxide with a white powdery solid appearance, widely used in various chemical industries.
Zirconium hydroxide is an amphoteric hydroxide that is insoluble in water and slightly alkaline. Non toxic and odorless, insoluble or slightly soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, alkali, and ammonium salt solutions. Easily soluble in inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid. It decomposes into zirconium dioxide and water at 500 ºC. Due to its amphoteric nature, it can react with acids and bases. Crystalline orthozirconate is formed by melting with strong alkali. The zirconium hydroxide obtained by the reaction of a zirconium salt water solution with an aqueous solution of caustic soda (or ammonia water) is called α Zirconic acid type, soluble in dilute acids. Precipitated under heating conditions is called β- Zirconic acid type, insoluble in water and acids.
have α Zirconium hydroxide β Zirconium hydroxide and γ Three types of zirconium hydroxide, α Zirconium hydroxide is expressed as Zr4 (OH) 8 (OH) 8 · nH2O; β Zirconium hydroxide is expressed as Zr4O2 (OH) 4 (OH) 8 · nH2O; γ Zirconium hydroxide is expressed as Zr4O4 (OH) 8 · nH2O; Chemical activity α>β>γ.
